In a culture that constantly tells us to move faster, produce more, and buy the next thing, it can feel radical to slow down.
The Creative Exhale is a small act of resistance to that pressure — a quiet space where creativity returns to what it has always been: simple, imperfect, and human.

WHY THIS MATTERS NOW: Right now, many people are feeling overwhelmed by the pace and noise of the world.
It can feel like we are constantly expected to move faster, consume more, and carry the weight of everything happening around us. In the middle of that, it’s easy to lose the small, human practices that help us stay grounded.
Creativity has always been one of those practices.
Making something with our hands slows the mind, steadies the breath, and reminds us that we are still capable of quiet moments of care — for ourselves and for one another.
The Creative Exhale is a small space to return to that feeling.

The Creative Exhale is a gentle, guided creative gathering where we slow down together and practice simple slow stitching.

This is not a workshop about perfection or productivity. It is a quiet space where creativity becomes a way to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

During our time together we will stitch slowly, share a few reflection prompts, and enjoy the calm that comes from creating something small and meaningful.

No experience is required. Imperfect stitches are welcome. Very beginner friendly!

During this 60 minute experience we will:
๐ŸŒฟ Begin with a gentle grounding moment

๐Ÿงต Learn a simple slow stitching technique

โ˜• Spend quiet time creating together

๐Ÿ““ Reflect on a few thoughtful prompts

๐Ÿ’› Close with encouragement to continue your creative practice

This is a relaxed and welcoming space where you can move at your own pace.

This workshop is for you if:

• You’re craving a quiet moment to slow down and breathe.
• You believe creativity can exist without perfection, pressure, or productivity.
• A cozy evening with a needle, thread, and a cup of tea sounds pretty wonderful.
• You enjoy making things with your hands—even if the stitches are a little crooked.
• You appreciate calm, thoughtful spaces where people treat each other with kindness.
• You’re ready to step away from the noise for a little while and reconnect with yourself.

This workshop is NOT for you if:

• You believe creativity only counts if it’s perfect, profitable, or Instagram-worthy.
• Sitting quietly with a needle, thread, and a cup of tea sounds like torture.
• You’re hoping for a competitive crafting environment where everyone compares projects.
• You prefer loud, chaotic energy over calm, reflective spaces.
• Kindness, compassion, and respect for others aren’t values that resonate with you.

“You don’t need to be good at creativity. You only need to be willing to begin.”
Jamie Tagba- Creative Spirit and Teacher

Jamie Tagba is a teacher, maker, and lifelong creative who believes that creativity should feel welcoming, calming, and accessible to everyone.
As a Family and Consumer Science teacher, Jamie has spent years helping students learn practical skills like sewing, cooking, and crafting while encouraging creativity and confidence along the way. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys embroidery, sewing, gardening, and other quiet creative practices that bring a sense of calm and reflection to everyday life.
Jamie created The Creative Exhale as a gentle space for women who feel overwhelmed by the pace of modern life and are looking for a moment to slow down. Her workshops focus on simple creative practices that help people reconnect with themselves, using materials they already have and embracing the beauty of imperfect, handmade work.
At the heart of her work is a belief that creativity and community should be rooted in compassion. Jamie believes deeply in the dignity and humanity of all people, and she is intentional about creating spaces where kindness, respect, and thoughtful conversation are the foundation.
Because of this, the communities she creates are not places for cruelty, bigotry, or ideologies that diminish the humanity of others. Instead, they are spaces where people can gather around creativity with empathy, openness, and care for one another.
Her philosophy is simple: creativity doesn’t need to be perfect or productive to be meaningful.
Sometimes it begins with something as small as a needle, a thread, and a quiet moment to breathe.

In a world that often feels loud and divided, creativity can be a quiet way to remember our shared humanity.
